Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to the use of All Trades Directory UK and to businesses purchasing directory listings, advertising or other promotional services through the website.
Last updated: August 20261. About All Trades Directory UK
All Trades Directory UK is an independent online directory and advertising platform designed to help users discover tradespeople, contractors and specialist service providers operating throughout the United Kingdom.
The website provides advertising space and information. Unless specifically stated otherwise, All Trades Directory UK does not provide the services advertised by businesses listed on the site.
2. Business Listings
Businesses may purchase or otherwise obtain a listing on All Trades Directory UK subject to these terms and any specific conditions shown on the relevant advertising page.
A listing may include information such as a business name, description, service areas, photographs, logos, contact details, website links and other relevant information.
The precise content and placement of a listing may vary depending on the advertising package purchased.
3. Payment
Prices for listings and advertising are shown on the website at the time of purchase.
Payment must be made in full before a paid listing or advertising service is published unless otherwise agreed.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as PayPal. All Trades Directory UK does not receive or store the customer's PayPal password or full payment-card details.
4. Listing Period
Where an advertising package is sold for a stated period, that period normally begins when the completed listing is published unless the relevant offer states otherwise.
Listings do not automatically renew unless automatic renewal is clearly stated and agreed at the time of purchase.
5. Authority to Advertise a Business
Anyone submitting or paying for a business listing confirms that they are authorised to advertise the business concerned.
This means the advertiser must be the business owner, an employee or representative authorised to act for the business, or otherwise have permission from the business owner to submit the listing.
6. Accuracy of Business Information
Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied for a listing is accurate, lawful and not misleading.
This includes, where applicable:
business names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, websites, areas covered, services offered, photographs, claims about experience, professional memberships, qualifications, insurance, accreditations and any other information shown within the listing.
7. Photographs, Logos & Other Content
Advertisers must only provide photographs, logos, descriptions, videos or other material that they own, are licensed to use, or otherwise have permission to publish.
By supplying content for a listing, the advertiser gives All Trades Directory UK permission to reproduce, resize, crop, format and display that material as reasonably necessary to provide and promote the purchased listing.
8. Review & Acceptance of Listings
All Trades Directory UK reserves the right to review a submitted business before publication.
We may decline, delay or request clarification regarding a listing where we reasonably believe that:
the business may not be genuine, information cannot reasonably be verified, the advertiser may not be authorised to act for the business, the content is misleading or unlawful, or the business is unsuitable for the directory.
9. Fraudulent, False or Unauthorised Listings
All Trades Directory UK does not independently verify the legal ownership or management of every business appearing on the directory.
We therefore rely partly on information supplied by advertisers.
All Trades Directory UK is not responsible for false, fraudulent, misleading or unauthorised information supplied by an advertiser or other third party, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Featured Listings & Advertising Positions
Featured, sponsored or enhanced listings may receive greater prominence than standard listings.
Placement may depend on page design, category, location, device type, availability and other editorial or technical considerations.
Purchase of enhanced placement does not guarantee a permanent position within a page or search result unless that position is expressly included in the package.
11. Search Engines & SEO
Business pages may be publicly accessible and may be discovered and indexed by search engines.
Search engines such as Google independently determine whether a page is indexed and where it appears within search results.
12. No Guarantee of Leads or Work
Advertising provides exposure only.
We cannot guarantee that any listing will generate telephone calls, website visits, quotations, enquiries, bookings, contracts or completed work.
13. Relationship Between Customers & Advertisers
All Trades Directory UK is normally not a party to any agreement made between a website visitor and an advertised business.
Quotations, contracts, deposits, payments, warranties, guarantees, timescales and the performance of work are matters between the customer and the relevant advertiser.
14. Customer Checks
Users should make their own checks before appointing any tradesperson, contractor or service provider.
Depending on the type of work, appropriate checks may include obtaining written quotations, confirming insurance, checking qualifications or registrations, asking for references and confirming the identity and contact details of the business.
15. Inclusion Is Not an Endorsement
The appearance of a business within All Trades Directory UK does not automatically mean that the business has been inspected, approved, accredited or recommended by us.
Where a specific verification or accreditation claim is made, its meaning will be explained separately.
16. Changes to Business Listings
Advertisers should contact us when important listing information changes.
Reasonable amendments may be made during an active advertising period. We may charge separately for substantial redesigns, replacement pages or work falling outside the original advertising package where this is agreed in advance.
17. Removal or Suspension
We may temporarily suspend or permanently remove advertising where there is a reasonable and legitimate reason to do so.
This may include serious or repeated misleading information, unlawful content, unauthorised advertising, fraudulent activity, misuse of the website, intellectual-property complaints or other circumstances creating a significant risk to users or the directory.
18. Refunds
Refunds are considered according to the circumstances, the service already provided and any applicable legal rights.
Where we decline a genuine paid advertisement before the purchased advertising service has been provided, an appropriate refund would normally be made.
A refund may not normally be available where an advertisement is removed because the advertiser deliberately supplied fraudulent, false, materially misleading or unauthorised information, to the extent permitted by law.
19. External Websites
Listings may contain links to websites operated by advertisers or other third parties.
All Trades Directory UK does not control those external websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, accuracy, content, privacy practices or services.
20. Website Availability
We aim to keep the website available and functioning correctly, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
Maintenance, hosting issues, security incidents, technical faults, third-party services and circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally interrupt availability.
21. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the design, layout, original written content and branding of All Trades Directory UK may not be copied or commercially reproduced without permission.
Advertiser logos, photographs and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, All Trades Directory UK will not be responsible for losses arising solely from the actions, omissions, workmanship, products, services or representations of independent advertisers.
We are also not responsible for indirect losses arising from the absence of expected enquiries, rankings, traffic or business generated by an advertisement.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.
23. Misuse of the Website
Users must not attempt to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, submit fraudulent information, impersonate another person or business, upload malicious material or use the website for unlawful purposes.
24. Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the website, advertising services, law or business practices.
The current version published on this page applies to subsequent website use and new advertising purchases.
25. Statutory Rights
Nothing in these terms is intended to remove or restrict any statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
26. Contact
Questions about these terms, an advertising purchase or a business listing can be sent through the contact details provided on All Trades Directory UK.
